Erin Tastes Toronto

I was one of the lucky people who attended Second Harvest’s Toronto Taste this past Sunday. The most coveted culinary event of the year was held indoors and outdoors at the beautiful Royal Ontario Museum. This was one of the coolest and most delicious culinary events I have ever been to. It was my first time at Toronto Taste and even though I didn’t really have the money to go… I went anyways. Was is worth it you ask? Umm.. yah HELL YES! Being able to taste food from 60 different chefs and drink all the beer and wine I wanted from 30 amazing breweries and wineries was a dream come true for this food lover! I had a great time wandering around eating, drinking and chatting with other food lovers. The most exciting thing for me was getting to meet some of the chefs and Food Network personalities all while experiencing the evening’s culinary delights.

I tried to document everything I ate but sometimes it just looked too delicious and eating it right away was far more important at the time than taking a picture lolz. I must apologize for some of the photos,  it was hard take a masterpiece while eating and drinking and I always felt like I was in somebodies way! hah Anyways, here are some of the highlights of my decadent and tipsy night.

These were crunchy and the fish was flaky and so fresh!

Creemore Springs Kellerbier was a great tasting brew! I love that it is unfiltered and naturally carbonated

1. From Far Niente -Savoury Cannoli with Dungeness Crab and Avocado

2. From Ciao Wine Bar – Gnocchi with Ontario Braised Lamb Ragu

Chatting with Andrea Nicolson from Top Chef Canada and then with Scott Conant a judge on one of my fave Food Network shows – Chopped. He is also the chef/owner of Scarpetta.

1. From All The Best Fine Foods – Steamed Berkshire Pork Buns 2. from Chef Michael Smith – Manitoba Pickerel, baby potatoes, boar bacon, tarragon cream 3. Me with Chef Michael Smith and Laura Calder – they are both soo tall!! Hah look at my little head

From Frank – Duck Confit Tostada with Montforie Ricotta (I went back for seconds of these babies!)

1. From Dufflet – Coconut Lemon Dacquoise 2. From Pangaea – Citrus donut with house-made ricotta filling and an orange cardamon milkshake. These were so scrumdidlyumptious times 100056, they blew my mind!! Two of my fave dishes from the night – and I don’t even have a big sweet tooth!

On top Bob Blumer and I – He hosted the event this year and then me and Roger Mooking who was awesome to chat with!

I think I’m actually still full… cant wait for next year!
