Cocktail Hour with Forty Creek Whiskey

I am normally a bourbon girl, however, over the last few weeks I have had the pleasure of trying  Grimsby’s own award winning Forty Creek Whiskey. The beautiful amber colored whiskey is great on the rocks as a sipper and also shines in cocktails.

If you are a whiskey fan – you must try Forty Creek!

Here are a couple recipes you can mix up for family and friends over the holidays!

Forty Creek Old-Fashioned – Traditional whisky cocktail made modern with Forty Creek

1.5 oz Forty Creek Whiskey

Rosemary & Lemon Simple Syrup (recipe below)

Splash of Soda

Served over rocks in a short glass.
Simple Syrup

1 L Water

1/2 L sugar

3 Sprigs of Rosemary

Zest of 2 Lemons

Combine the following ingredients in small pot and bring to boil. Turn down heat
slightly and let simmer for 2 minutes. Remove and let sit for 1 hour.

The rosemary simple syrup is amazing – it really balances out the sweetness in the whiskey and give it a little savory twist to it. I love this cocktail!

Forty Creek Barrel Buzz

This recipe was created by my cousin this weekend after an amazing family pasta dinner. I was brewing some coffee while we sipped on Forty Creek Barrel Aged on the rocks and Greg came up with the idea of mixing the two – It was brilliant!

1 1/2 ounces of Forty Creek Whiskey

1 1/2 ounces of fresh brewed coffee

Top with gingerale

Serve over lots of ice and enjoy – the warm, peppery and spicy finish of the whiskey goes so well with the coffee.
